Achim Hager

In addition to his extensive involvement in radio and television, Achim Hager built up HFO Telecom, one of Germany’s leading telecommunications providers, which he sold to the British Gamma Group in 2020 and for which he was CEO for the DACH region until the end of 2023. During his time at HFO, he accompanied 12 corporate transactions, from equity deals to share deals to his own sale. He is also passionate about start-ups, which he supports, advises and financially supports at the digital start-up centre Einstein1 at the University of Applied Sciences Hof. He has been active in the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Upper Franconia for decades and is currently deputy chairman of the economic committee and deputy chairman of the supervisory board of the important fibre optic industry association Breko. Achim studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth after training as a banker at the Schmidt private bank.
