Dear friends and business partners, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of another transaction today. Since mid-April 2023, the Sichert Group (Berthold Sichert GmbH & Co. Metallwerk KG, Berthold Sichert GmbH), a leading German supplier and specialist for outdoor control cabinets, has complemented Belden, Inc./ PPC, a leading global manufacturer of data transmission components headquartered in St. Louis (USA). Apart from the purchase price of approximately USD 98 million, no details of the transaction were disclosed. As part of the transaction, Belden, Inc./ PPC will acquire all shares of the Sichert Group. Through the acquisition, Belden, Inc./ PPC expands its product and service offering and continues to drive growth in the key German market. The merger makes an important contribution to bundling the product offering between the various stages of the data transmission supply chain and thus providing a platform solution for network components. This is of increasing importance in the course of the development of 5G networks and for the infrastructure in smart cities. The two long-standing managing directors of the Sichert Group, Julian Graf von Hardenberg and Thomas Fila, will remain on the company’s management board. Founded in 1923, the family-owned company Sichert has always used its Berlin roots for growth, innovation and tradition. Today, around 200 employees in Germany and Poland work for the long-established company and the Group’s products can be found in a wide variety of networks worldwide, such as those of Deutsche Telekom and many other network operators.
